My daughters bedroom is extremely cold as about 1m of it overhangs an alley on our terraced house.

I am about to decorate and thinking about insulating under the floorboards that are over the alley.

Any suggestion on the what is the best type of insulation to use between the joists?

Any help is extremely apprecieted.

Thanks

Take up the floor boards and put loft insulation in between the joist, refit the floor boards, hardboard the floor boards edge to edge. Then silicone seal around the edge to block and gaps. Then fit new underlay and carpet.

I have just remove my lounge/dining room ceiling fitted loft insulation between the joists and double boarded. It's much harder with gravity against you.
