Insulating brick wall

Hi all,

I've got a solid brick wall I need to insulate on the inside. I appreciate as lit has been said as bout this subject, and also that I'm not going to achieve MUCH with my plan, but...

Option a. Put 25mm celotex directly into the bricks, held on with 25mm battens, there by creating a cavity before the plasterboard

Option B. 25mm celotex straight onto bricks, then another 25mm in between battens at 400 centre's.

Option c.....? Open to ideas!

I'd say b is best, or c) stick 50mm celotex to wall using foam and a few fixings, tape the joints and plasterboard over
