We have moved into a house with a loft converted in the 70's and I have been replacing the ceiling up there with new board insulation, and will plasterboard it before building storage and decorating, but I have just thought what about the floor? Should this also be insulated to reduce heat loss from downstairs into the loft room? There's a radiator upstairs and it already feels quite warm with the insulating work I've done.

I'm drawn toward not doing anything under the floorboards as the room temperature will be the same as downstairs anyway so shouldn't draw much heat up. Not to mention the amount of extra work this would involve!

I do plan to tidy up the insulation in the eaves once the room is done, ensure there's plenty up against the walls and 300mm or so on the floor.

Appreciate any thoughts on this, thanks.
