Hi,
Newbie here so apologies if this topic has been covered before. Can't find anything that answers my issues directly...
Live in an Edwardian house with about a 4 foot cavity under the floorboards. Under the house is very well ventilated with air bricks but this makes the ground floor very cold and with a new baby crawling about I want to eliminate drafts where possible.
My question is this: Is it OK to insulate between the joists and direct the airflow from the bricks down beneath the joists and into the cavity? Some floorboard cracks are filled but the floor itself gets very cold from the air below so just filling gaps isn't going to fix the problem.
Any thoughts gratefully received - is this OK to do and if so, best method for insulation?
Many thanks.
