Hi Everyone,
Did a conversion on the loft a few years ago and it looks really good, I left all the beams exposed and cleaned them up, insulated with that shiny bubble wrap stuff then plastered between the rafters.
Now my 2 girls are getting older they want to go up there but don't like the exposed rafters. So correct me if I am wrong but I don't intend on pulling down what is already there just insulating over it with 100mm rock wool or similar (as the void is only 80mm deep and this will compress unlike king span), then plaster boarding over the rafters and skimming. Am I going to need to do anything else as I have just read about putting a vapour barrier over the rock wool and using thermal plasterboard.
