My house is an old cottage and the second floor is in the roof area with the exception of a crawlspase. I am about to insulate my loft/crawlspace and eave area. but need some advice before i do.

If the recomended insulation thickness is 400mm of fibre roll. What is the comparison in an alternative product i.e. airtec double or 55mm polystyrene?
Has anyone got advice on how to get the insulation down the eaves from the small crawl space near the ridge?

Any advice would be greatfully recieved.

I used 25 mm, Kingspan foil+slab insulation in my chalet Bungalow. Must leave airgap for ventilation.. Best to ask the Building boys on diynot.
