Insulation in a false ceiling?

I am lowering the ceiling in my bathroom by 8 inches, using timber battens and plasterboard, above it is the existing ceiling and the loft which is already insulated, so would it be advised to also lag the false ceiling too?

150mm of standard loft insulation in the loft above the old ceiling

I'm guessing the logical answer will be yes, if just to preserve the heating in the bathroom from leaking away into the void?

You have answered your own question . Another 150mm would be good, how about doing the whole loft area
