Insulation in existing stud walls

Hi there,

I have just discovered that the stud walls upstairs in our house have no insulation in them at all. I expected them to considering I had one replaced by a builder some years ago.

Is there a way of adding any insulation into the walls now without pulling off the plasterboard? It's an old house and so any ways in which we can keep heat and reduce the noise of our 3 kids travelling through the house.

Internal stud walls are not insulated. Your expectation is incorrect. Though some insulation in a stud wall between a toilet and a bedroom is appropriate.

That could be misleading, it's quite common to put some Rockwool between floors for sound transmission, same goes as you Mention for sensitive walls. But for thermal unless you have a connection to a ventilated void it won't help much
