Insurance auto-renewal

Yep!
Some things are just not worth fighting, nor getting stressed over.
Just be sure to tell the new insurers no when it comes to automatic renewal. That's what I now do and this time next year you won't be doing the same old dance.

It's true, but do you have written confirmation that they will not auto-renew?

I wouldn't trust a person to do what they say over the phone anyway. Another reason I wanted written confirmation.

So you don't want to save money then?

Hahah I knew someone would post that.

I did want to save money when I tried phoning them multiple times with no success. Then I got peed off and went somewhere else.

Are you in customer service by any chance bud? :D

p.s. I'm happy with what I've paid this year to the new company. Their quote is much much cheaper.

I change out of principle when they send the renewal joke quote, more people should and they may get the message eventually.

They send you a higher renewal quote 4 wks prior then you do a little dance, you IP does a
little dance and beats their quote and you don't have to go through the rigmarole of changing
provider. Simples innit (y)

Never been cheaper to stay with the same company in my case. I wish it was! I just saved over £100 by switiching from the last provider, even with calling them to haggle.

Yeah, I think it was on a couple of the confirmation letters/emails in the past. Not checked this time, just got new insurance last month. Thanks for the reminder!

If you've already got or set up for new insurance, be careful you don't end up with dual insurance. If I were you, I'd just try calling them again.

Well if they still take money unauthorised I have the 14 day cool off contract period don't I ?

This whole thing is a load of p1ss I know, but I really resent being scammed, even by a few quid.

You should see the sort of money I splash out on my girlfriend; I'm a good tipper as well, I'm just not backing down and phoning these crud.

Are you willing to name the insurance co? You could tell them on their Facebook page, they won't like that. I did that to an insurer who specialises in the mature driver when their quote was the dearest and they gave me full comp for about £150 for the year!

I'll give them a chance not to do the wrong thing first and then I'll see about posting online reviews.

Don't really want to name the company at this moment.

Don't use facebook, took too much time away from me

Social media is an excellent idea. I recently joined twitter, just for this purpose of naming shameful companies.. Get good results on a whole :)

Happened to me the last 5-6 years. They also gave me free basic breakdown cover three years ago so saved atleast another 30 quid on top. I love their dancing. (y)
