I use an electric fan sat on a stool to defrost our freezer, takes about half hour.

To answer your question, the drip tray is often located on top of compressor motor. So then heat of motor speeds evaporation of water out if tray into the air.

When I repaired mine I applied vaseline around the fan to stop ice build up and cut vent in lining larger to allow more air past fan.
If it’s intergrated a poor fit of the outer door can cause problems as it prevents inner door closing completly.
