Hi All,

Our ~6 month old Intergas Xclusive 36 has developed a loud clicking noise after the DHW fires and for 20-30 seconds after. It sounds a lot like a relay clicking, or a very loud expansion of something. Sound appears to be coming from top left as looking at the cover.

The boiler is working as normal for both DHW and CH.

Any ideas/thoughts?

Not sure what it is, but at 6 months I’d be getting Intergas out under warranty.

Sounds like they might have slightly overtightened the bolts which hold the heat exchanger together. It's a common fault after a service, when inexperienced service engineers just wang them up as tight as they can rather than using a torque wrench, but unusual on a new boiler. Call Intergas and book an appointment for them to sort it for you

Is it a bit unusual that it has suddenly started after 6 months? It’s not made a noise up to this point.

Yes, you'd normally expect it fairly soon, but things do move and settle with heating and cooling cycles over time. It's not a common issue though, none of my installs have ever ticked
