Hi,
while waiting for a quote for a stove installation by a Hetas installer I'd welcome some advice as to what to line the firebrick interior of the fireplace with (not the flue!), we live in a 1960's property.
Fireplace dimensions are:
610mm wide x 355mm deep x 800mm height
Stove dimensions are:
462mm wide x 383mm deep x 641mm height.
Possible options: Leave as plain brick, render, tile (slate?), fireproof board, steel sheet.
As there is limited space between the fireplace and the opening the heat causing possible cracks if the walls are rendered or tiled I am thinking of a mild or stainless steel sheet backing for the internal rear and side walls of the fireplace opening itself - any thoughts / suggestions on this - also, what gauge steel would be suitable? Would a stainless steel sheet reflect much heat back into the room?
Thank You,
Keith.
