I am about to replace the sockets in the kitchen, but before I go out and buy them I want to check what sort of socket oneof them is. Basically the fridge and washing macine both plug into normal sockets behind the appliances and then above the work surface is a socket which looks the same as a light switch (but I know it isn't one of them) so they can be turned off without pulling the machines out. Is this what is called an intermediate switch? Want to check before I buy the wrong thing !!

Thanks for you help as always

It definatly will not be an intermediate switch if is is switching sockets.
It most probably be a DP Switch.
