internal insulated walls

have bought a property part built to roof height,cavity breeze block walls with 100mm gap and 20mm polystyrene installed about 20 yrs ago,building inspector has advised to insulate internal walls pl/board with foam back ,my question is do i need to render the internal walls or could these boards be fixed direct to blockwork then skimmed over.thanks any advice

They are stuck to bare walls with proprietary adhesive

Use the best type you can though - boards with Styrofoam or jablite (pink, blue or yellow foam) will be better than plain white polystyrene

Celotex, Kingspan etc (foil faced) are even better but fixing may be different

Insulated plasterboard is constructed plasterboard-foil-insulation-paper

The back layer of paper being designed for dot and dab adhesive onto walls as you require. Or at least any i have used recently are made like that.

The other option is to batten the wall insulate between battens then go over the whole lot with insulated pb
