Hi all,
I’m working on improving the internal look of some UPVC Velux roof windows. I’m not keen on the white plastic finish and want to try and hide it with timber or aluminium fascias/liners over the UPVC to hopefully mimic a proper recessed frame.
Has anyone done this or seen it done well? Specifically:

Has anyone done this or seen it done well? Specifically:
- Should the fascia be fixed directly to the UPVC frame or to the surrounding wall reveal?
- What materials and finishes work best for a seamless, high-end effect?
- Any tips for achieving that clean, shadow-gap style you see in modern architecture?
