Over the years, it has become less worthwhile/ easy to invent anything new at home, because anything new has already been invented and commercially developed. New ideas need a lot of commercial backing and development to get anywhere.

You have just failed the first test of becoming an entrepreneur before you even started.

Would something like the chainsaw trousers work that has the fibres in to lock the SPINNEY THING up?

I didn't invent the ringtone but I know the chap that did. We were a loose group of tech heads looking to reverse engineer the early mobile phones when one chap turned up & his phone played a simple tune whenever you rang it. For a few months we played around & tied up with a few other folks to to refine what for us was a bit of fun. We never gave a it a thought that people would actually 'PAY' for a ringtone.

Quite deviously, one of our group splintered off & created the first ever ringtone company. James Windsor, we used to call him 'Winboar', made £millions.
