The picture shown is the England team before their infamous match against Germany in 1938. Despite strenuous protests from the players they were instructed to make the salute regardless - although Stanley Matthews recalls in his autobiography that as they raised their arms he spotted a couple of England supporters in the partisan crowd with an England flag draped over the perimeter. He says it inspired them to win the game 6-3.

In the previous fixture in 1935, when England hosted the German national team at White Hart Lane, the Swastika flag was flown. An especially egregious gesture considering the large Jewish community who still support Spurs. We beat 'em 3-0.

Ireland have a very complicated history with their admiration for the Nazis, mainly due to De Valera. Their 'neutrality' in ww2 was partly due to this and partly due to De Valeras hatred for the English.
That said, 250,000 Oirish came to London during the war to help with the war effort and at least 50,000 fought for the allies some having deserted the Irish army to do so. De Valera wasn't happy about this.
When news of Hitlers death came out, De Valera offered his condolences to Germany and the Irish flag flew at half mast.

Into the next century the Irish show their support for the modern day Nazis.

There are but a few Irish Jews ✡️ that must seeth at their countries hatred of the Israeli people and its existence.
