what have i done???...:-/

any help greatly appreciated!

You shouldn't have done any damage. Opening a bleed valve furnter than necessary just risks the screw falling out, and disappearing down the hole in the floor the rad. pipes come up through - then it's time to panic! - Don't laugh, our neighbour did exactly that.

It just sounds like your system needs balancing so each rad gets it's fair share of the boiler output. There is information in the wiki / FAQs.

Basically, it's tweaking down the lockshield valves on the hottest rads, and opening up the ones on the cooler rads until they all run at appropriate temperatures. Expect to go round all the rads three or four times, maybe more, to get them about right.

If all the valves are left wide open, the chances are nearly all the flow will just whiz through the rad. nearest the boiler instead of circulating round the whole system.

Once you get it right, don't touch the lockshields, just use the wheelhead valves to turn the rads on and off if you need to.

Thanks alot for all the help

am a bit unsure of what the lockshield valve is?

the wheelhead valve is obvioulsy the1 ive turned to try and put them all on max which i think they all still are??

And the lockshield is exactly the same valve but with a plastic cover instead of a wheelhead, deters people from making unwanted changes.
Just borrow a wheelhead from another valve to make the adjustment.
