Is it worth buying second hand internal doors?

Just looking at second hand doors on eBay and wondering if they would be difficult to fit to a new frame? I realise that they would probably have to be trimmed to fit and that the hinges might be in a different place, but is there anything else I should be aware of? Would it be more difficult to fit second hand doors than brand new ones?

Only buy new doors. Second hand doors will of being hung to the frame, so there is a good chance it won't fit yours.

If you have some sort of period property then second hand doors are an option as getting the correct style of door custom made can become expensive and also new doors can look just that "new" or "too good" if you understand me.
Ideally you should view the doors before you purchase them. They may be twisted which sometimes will entail you planing the frame or lining to suit or leaving a gap. Sometimes (well nearly always) the cut outs for the hinges will need filling in on either the door or frame.
Another thing to look for is if they have been dipped in caustic soda which very often attacks the glues used and in my option leaves the wood a little lifeless and with the raised grain a pig to paint as it involves more rubbing down to get a decent finish.
