Is masking tape the right stuff when painting windows?

I painted an interior door and window last week which each had 6 small panes. I had a right pain taping the glass. I tried both regular masking tape and FrogTape and both just kept sliding and coming off, a right faff with such small panes. Luckily it was just in a utility room!

Not done this before so I might just be s*** at it, or should I be using a different type of tape on glass?

Degrease the glass before you use the tape.

Try a small sash brush and no tape. Thin the paint slightly to let it flow!
