I have just realised the catch on my front door Banham catch lock is not working - that is - when door is pushed shut the catch is not holding the door.
I had workmen coming in and out yesterday and overnight shut a bolt on the door. Only this morning now have noticed this problem. Have "tested" it out without shutting door and it seems OK, the catch goes in and out - Also have tried slamming the door - that does not work either.
I've had Banham lock catches in various places for many years - never had this problem before! At the moment cannot keep slamming the door because of noise (flats - too early). Any ideas what to do? Thanks!

On further examination - have now realized a brass lock cover for another lock on outside of door had moved from central position - preventing the door for closing properly!
