Hi All
My friend's wooden patio door locking mechanism has broken so that one of the four engaging hooks (bottom) has snapped in situ (or the metal bar to it has snapped)- this is well within the door itself and thus invisible.
Its one of these arrangements where the door handle on the first openable door is held upwards while the key is turned in the lock. This pushes the locking catches into place.
The lock itself still works but one of the internal locking catches, near the bottom of the door, has snapped or jammed in the other door's locking plate/hole.
Any ideas. Someone suggested just braking the door open and repairing the damage afterwards. There must be a better way that that of fixing it to cause less damage.
Thanks, Roy
