Why on earth would they want to join the Euro?? Is their economy in trouble too???

Please don't forget that about 2/3 years ago £1 bought nearly €1.5. Now it's only €1.17.

if we had joined the Euro all those years ago (can't remember when, pre- thatcher years, I believe) it would have been about €1.45

Also don't forget that the £ varies against the dollar from about $1.5 to $2

Makes no difference if we are in the euro or not good old sterling doesn't exactly keep its value.
