So I have a W Bosch 32 Greenstar CDi boiler which generally works fine. However, upstairs when one of the bathroom hot water taps is on the other bathrooms hot water tap doesn't really release any water at all. Similarly when in the shower and the water is flowing fine and someone turns the kitchen tap on the shower water stops completely. Is this normal with combi boilers? Thanks for any input.

Sounds like you have very poor water pressure, and a combi boiler that can't cope with the flow rates you're expecting from it

Your boiler should give about 12 litres per minute of hot water heated up 35 C above the inlet temperature which is about 15 C at this time of year.

It also depends if this has been occurring since it was installed or if it is something that has deteriorated over time? If the latter, then you may have issues with restrictions from detritus in the hot water supply: blocked inlet filter from cold supply; plate heat exchanger; pipework; filters to hot outlets...

Edit: what is your cold main supply at the kitchen sink like ?

Sorry for delay folks and thanks for replies. Been like this since install tbh, cold water all throughout house is good pressure. Mains in kitchen is fine as well.

have a chat with your neighbours and see what they have, could be the area you live in has low water pressure,
is it an old house, do you have a lead water main? if so replacing it will help

Good pressure, or good flow? Two very different things! Could be that there's a restriction on the supply to the boiler as well...
