Is this classed as gas work?

Hi,

I have my acs, but haven’t utilised it fully until recently, so please be gentle.

So I have read your diy gas faq section. I wanted to know if when you remove a boiler cover on a boiler with the air intake inside, eg Vaillant ecotec or ecomax, to renew a temperature dial, or to wire in a thermostat, maybe even just charge the expansion vessel, is this claaaes as needing to carry out reg 26.9? I’ve read the manual and it just states to carry out functional check, but I usually just ldf the gas pipe inside and check the flue. Surely I don’t need to gas rate, fga or measure heat input?

Any advice appreciated.
