Is this gas pipe safe?

Don't worry,.... I have got a copy of a previous version from a ~~~~~.ac.uk/ site.

Lots of protection measures against corrosion but not much against penetration.

Hopefully the most recent version has a bit more about preventing mechanical damage to gas pipes hidden behind a thin layer of plaster.

What catastrophe do you expect to happen if someone drills into a gas pipe ? the gas cant collect anywhere to cause a danger and you turn the gas off if you smell it.
