Is this immersion element pre 2004?

Having read about the horror stories regarding pre 2004 imerssion thermostats potential dangers should they fail. I thought about checking mine out. Is it pre 2004? I know the wiring definietly is, and it needs changing, it looks dangerous to me. Do imerssion heaters come with their own flex, or do you just wire them up to an existing supply?

i'm upgrading CWST next week for new pump and shower. Do you think it would be a good idea to swap this element out at the same time or is it ok?

it looks more like pre war.
no they don't come with their own cable.
immersion cable is 2.5mm 3 core heat resistant cable. (3183tq)
don't do what a lot of people do and use old lawn mower cable.
