Dormer bungalow. Solid concrete floors. External cavity walls, plaster-skimmed and cold to the touch. No mould or condensation visible though.

Looking to insulate external walls of ground floor bedrooms.
(Also looking to acoustically-insulate party wall at bed head of one bedroom. For which, looking to use dense slab insulation, then board over).

Is the linked method appropriate?
If not, why not?
If not, which method would be?
Any considerations / obvious errors to avoid?

Thanks in anticipation.

Interesting video. I can see how using foam is quicker than building a stud wall, with the plastic fixing countering any tendency of the foam/panel adhesive to push the board out through expansion. Wouldn't it stick with a hybrid polymer though like CT1, scuffing up the surface a bit as necessary?

You might achieve get a higher standard of insulation by building a stud wall and stuffing with rolls of insulation. I have no idea if that would be quicker or cheaper than insulated plasterboard though. It depends what your property is for, if just a rental then do only as much as is required to meet building regs/fire safety standards.

Blup
