Is this light wired OK?

Today I removed an old ceiling light and replaced with a new ceiling rose, as the plasterer is arriving tomorrow to board the ceiling.

When I first put it in, the lights in the next 2 rooms stopped. The only way to get all working was to put in an extra wire linking the "loop" to N.

Originally, the 2 blacks and blue were all jammed together, with the red label cable in L. So this is the same I guess. Just not seen this done before!

Obviously didn't touch that bunch of reds going into the blue thing - what is that all about?

Not very conventional ,but all the conductors appear to be connected to what they should be. If you wanted to use the rose in the conventional way ,some terminals would have to accommodate two conductors. For instance the live conductors in the blue connector ,there are 4 of them ,but only three terminals for loop connections in the rose ,so two of the 4 would have to fit together in one of the 3 terminals.
Likewise the four neutrals would have to fit into the three neutral terminals.
