i had a new waste pipe fitted under floor and I had a quote from a bathroom fitter to fit a suite into the bathroom. He said the pipe (which is about 100m) up needs to be put down lower somehow to accept the toilet fittings.
If the installer has an issue modifying the pipe or the pan connector to suit then get rid of him and get another in to quote. Bloody waste of space if he can't modify things silly little things like that to fit!!
Short piece of pipe into that, or even use a Pancon, and any standard pan should fit without issue. My only concern would be the condition of the rubber seal, looks like the old pipe has been removed, and if the rubber has shrunk to fit, any new pipe may not seal.
