Hi,

I am trying to repair an epilator, Panasonic ES-WD72 Wet/Dry.
One of the plastic cogs inside is worn and needs replacement.

Here is a picture of that cog:

It's about 1 cm in diameter.

I asked Panasonic and they say they don't have that spare and the whole thing needs replacement for a ridiculous price.

How do you call that kind of plastic cog?
Do you recognise it as a standard piece? Any advice?

Thanks in advance

They don't carry parts like this because the labour cost of repairing units is normally more than the cost of a replacement unit.

I have repaired a fan heater with a 50p resistor but adding the bill for 40 minutes labour would have meant a new heater would be cheaper. . . .

You need the spindle diameter, wheel diameter, width, tooth pitch/number of teeth and material and if you get it wrong then as soon as you turn the unit on it will chew up the new wheel and risk damaging other parts of the unit.

And you need to find a manufacturer that will supply you one and not in batches of 10,000.

heeelllooo and welcome alex01222 :D :D :D
how old is it ??
if its still under gtee can you get it back together without it showing

if its just out off gtee you could go down the "not fit for purpose" route
