Hi all,

I have bought some real wood flooring from wickes as it was only £11.99 sq/m http://tinyurl.com/5fylt9

Which of these underlay methods would you recommend? This will be on a concrete floor.

High Performance Floor Underlay from Homebase: http://tinyurl.com/6nyqea

OR
DPM from Wickes: http://tinyurl.com/5uh99a
Underlay Boards from Wickes: http://tinyurl.com/6x5qud

Wickes method is about twice as much as Homebase, and Homebase appears to be easier (just one product).

Or is there another alternative you can suggest?

Many thanks,

The fibreboards are 7mm thick versus the combi-underlayment 2- 3 mm.

Depends on the uneveness of your concrete floor. If rather level go for the combi-underlayment.

Pretty uneven! Will be filling in the holes this weekend with Sikafloor Level 25. Based on your reply, will probably go for the Wickes in that case.

Many thanks Woodyoulike.
