Hi,

I have a number of light fittings which requitre 100W ISL lamps. What is an ISL lamp? I know about GLS lamps etc but never an ISL.

Thanks

What do they look like.

There used to be a low energy lamp called SL but that was years ago.

It could also be a
Internally Silvered Lamp
I think they are like the old Ro 40, Ro63 and Ro 80 lamps

hi,

at the moment, they have normal GLS lamps in them but the light from them is a bit indistinct at best. I was looking to see if i could use a bigger lamp and the label states: 60W GLS 100W ISL so i don't know what they look like. there is no little picture either.

The fittings are ES which is slightly unusual i thought.

Thanks

It all makes sense now, the R80s will fit well and presumably direct the heat down, thus allowing a higher wattage lamp. I just didnt want to burn down a listed building.

Thanks!

The Ro80 lamp 100 watt still gets very hot though, so be carefull, we use them in pubs in so called 100 watt rated open fittings, and often find the holders and wires burnt up.
They do a 60 watt Ro 63 but it is a smaller diameter.
If possible I would rather use them.
