i need to isolate sink in downstairs cloakroom. i have turned all stopcocks leading off the base of immerison heater for hot tap but to no avail.

turned off stopcock undersink for cold. no joy.

there is one single large pipe leading (cold) down from attic and turned this off. no. joy.

there are 2 pipes (H&C) leading down wall in cloakroom.

no isolating valves in cloakroom at all

any ideas?

Next step, outside stopcock. Sounds like you've got multiple failures of gate valves and stopcocks inside your house. Unless, of course, you aren't giving your system enough time to drain down.

thanks crockett.

i turned the stopcock back on as it appears to be gravity fed and therefore not direct fed from kitchen
