Quick question -

I'm sure its not ideal practice, but I'm in a bit of a fix.

I'm about to plumb in a radiator but I'm not 100% convinced of the quality of my soldering. Can I fit a couple of standard isolating valves inline in case I have a leak, so I can resolder/repair without draining down the entire system?

Its 15mm pipe and I've currently got two isolating valves acting as stop ends on the pipes. It would be handy if I could just keep them there and tag in.

have faith.
you can leave them in
but its not something i would do as they are small inside and can block.

how big a leak are you expecting ?

Thanks! Ideally I'll replace them with straight connectors when convenient, just convenient isn't now.

I'm not sure how big a leak :(
I've only got solder-ring and compression fittings to hand, and my experience so far of solder ring is that the solder sometimes all runs to the bottom. It was enough for a pinprick leak on the the hot water tap in the downstairs loo, under pressure of the CH it might be more spectacular!
