Hello all
this is my frst post and hoping someone can help,i have a micron ff and due to not topping up our gas meter for a few days we didnt have any heating etc so the boiler was not working. After topping up the gas card i am unable to get the boiler fired up.When i switch the electric on to it i can here it click as though its getting electric but nothing else happens.Neither of the lights come on and the start up sequence doesnt happen.i have checked the fuse on the PCB and it seems fine. Can anyone else suggest something as it was working fine before the gas stopped.
yours hopefully

because when i switch on at wall and turn the thermostat swith all the way up nothing happens and neither of the led lights are on.i here a click when i swith on the power so there is obviously power going to the boiler..or am i missing something here?

You definately have got gas now, havent you? Do you have a gas cooker / fire to check.

Turn the boiler stat right off, and then turn back on. This re-sets the boiler.

we have a gas meter and it says gas on,we dont have any other gas appliances.when i turn the dial from 0-max nothing happens

well if there isnt a logical reason i think the boiler has had it,its 10 years old now so will book an appointment to get a quote on new boiler

You nuts  Changing a boiler just 'cos it's 10 years old. Only parts iffy on the Microns are the boards...rest of it's fine. Could be just a simple fault.

is the gas meter definetely working ok? is there a reset button on the meter? might need to call the gas board up to check.

trying turning power off at the spur feeding the boiler and back on again or check the fuse in it

i have just checked the boilermate 2000 in the airing cupboard and the led on light isnt on would this be due to no gas getting through ,is there any way i can check as i dont have any gas appliances .we have a gas meter fitted and it says there is credit and is on but im not sure, any advice would be welcome

turn the boiler off at the wall
then turn it on again if you can here fan running then may just need you to do this but double check your meter

OP, that comment is comparable to to "my cars fuel guage reads empty, is that why my front left hand wheel has fell off?" I know that doesn't help, but.... please try to be a bit logical about this.

It may be best to employ the services of an RGI now - a recommended one - who I suspect will have it fixed fairly quickly.

2 hours to make sure that the issue isnt with the gas meter that way if he confirms gas is coming through then the issue is with the boiler

Hello it looks like its the pcb that has gone as it has been confirmed that gas is coming into house, how easy is it to install a pcb or should i get someone to do it? and how do i find what pcb to order
thanks

Don't know if this helps but when i was in rented accommodation i also had a gas meter. when i let the gas run out and the boiler go out it was an absolute pig to get lit again, i always put it down to an air lock in the pipe because after a while of trying it used to light. What i had to do is turn and light all other gas appliences which aided the bleeding of the pipe. you have non so i think its going to be a git. Just a thought.
