Hi, we have just had a new composite door fitted and had nothing but issues and before getting back to the company, can someone advise on what these black things are at the bottom of the door frame please. Do they serve a purpose or is it

Maybe packers to adjust frame height .Just get them back ( my daughter recently had a poorly fitted damaged door but company replaced completely as the damage to it was unrepairable ).
Don’t accept excuses or anything that you are unhappy with .
Have you paid in full?

They are a low threshold end cap, because the aluminium threshold runs through under the frame the frame needs a cap to transition from a straight cut to one that's shaped to follow the contours of the aluminium threshold, normal.

Our low thresholds fit between the frame so need a cap to transition from a straight cut on the threshold to the contours of the frame like this
