Been going round in circles with problems with my new composite front door with UPVC side panel and hoping someone can advise.

The main issues we have is when the weather drops in temperature, we get an obvious cold air coming from the bottom left of the door and from where the strike plate is, leaving the area around the door very cold.

The door doesn’t fit flush on the top left of the door. Reviewing internally, the weatherstripping is not snug against the door. We get condensation gather at the bottom of the door and sometimes on the glass. Contractor has done tweaks to hinges but doesn’t resolve the issue. They’ve refitted the door (left the side panel and base in place) and after refitting, these problems remain the same. Pictures of the door currently and the surrounds when the door was refitted.

Mother-in-law recently had a composite door fitted by a different contractor - her door does sit flush to the frame, does fit snug to the weatherstripping and airtight all the way round the frame.

Please can someone advise as to why a door like this won’t sit flush to the frame, weatherstripping won’t fit snug to the door and potential reasons for the cold air coming through.

I'd guess a baldy fitted door from the start and the frame buckled out of shape. When frame is not right it stays like it.

New? Five years ago maybe
2 years on now, but been going round in circles with the contractor. Various tweaks to hinges & a refit later, the same issues remain from the initial fit. Contractor assures it’s normal and just wanted to get some other opinions

It's not normal.
