Why is it so cold when we are supposed to be suffering from global warming. I've never understood this :?

Think this is cold - wait until the Gulf Stream diverts - That`ll be cold

Because we are in Britain and no doubt we will be the only place that gets colder while every one else gets warmer! :(

There must be a way of generating electricity from the cold

Not down this way it isn't!

Blas and his Geordie mates will be out in tee-shirts you bunch of jessies

it's because you don't know the difference between Climate and Weather.

Balmy 5 degrees in Cornwall....bit nippy though here at the ice skating

So the 'Barmy Army' are cricket fans and the 'Balmy Army' are skating fans. That's good to know.

Crumbs, this must be quite some detailed reply that JohnD is preparing for me about the difference between climate and weather. Better get my reading glasses cleaned in readiness :)

He's too busy deleting harmless humour.

(yawn)

the climate in Hampshire is warmer than the climate in Perth. Generally speaking, averaged over years, it is warmer in Hampshire than it is in Perth. Over time, there are more cold and frosty days in Perth than in Hampshire.

However sometimes the weather in Perth is warm, and sometimes the weather in Hampshire is cold. There will be some days when the weather in Perth is warmer than the weather in Hampshire. That does not make the statement about climate untrue.
