Perhaps the big vehicles blinded you, and you imagined the camera flash.

Crafty

could be , lol... or one of them flashed their head lamps ..?

it *may* not come to anything - a lot of the cameras are empty

I've been flashed twice before and neither ever came to anything (~2yrs ago)

you're probably looking at atleast £60 + 3 points though I'd reccon

Moz as chris says iys normally £60 and three points, some areas offer training courses if its a first offence, i think they take a day and cost £90 but you don't get the points, I think they have to notify you of intended prosecution within 14 days, and they've tightened a lot of the loop holes like "i don't know who was driving the vehicle" that results in a bigger fine for failing to disclose information and you still get the points (Tried that one ;) )

nah
I will hold my paw up for it ...
if it comes to it ..

as Im known too plod ...from my mad impetious youth,

there are only doing there job ...

tbh
think I was blinded by truck/ bus, in that dark haze the flash in rvm, nearly crashed ,lol

If your vehicle is available to other people don`t admit to driving it straight away and ask for the photographic evidence when it turns up if you cannot make your face out just say you haver not got a clue who was driving.. Know a few people who have got off

Although a few people have been prosecuted for not knowing who is driving their car and therefore allowing their car to be possibly driven uninsured... (Man Utd for one).

Good point on that one. If you're the only named insured person, sayinhg you might not have been driving just makes it a different offence surely

You can get offered a speed awareness course if you have not been done for speeding within the last 3 years.

Mine was 120 quid, with the threat "if your attitude & driving show no signs of improvement, we'll stick the fine & points on you anyway"...

As long as the vehicle is not a company car, they HAVE TO notify you within 14 days - if they don't, you're off the hook, despite what they tell you.

Some forces go to great lengths to try and make NIP's stick even though they have been issued beyong the 14 day limit. Another great rip-off.

Who'd have thought that great bastion of law & order (our police forces) could be blatently forcing timid ignorants to pay a fine and accept points that have been unlawfully issued??

How DARE they. A neighbour of mine got letter after intimidating letter insisting he HAD TO pay the fine & accept points for an NIP which was 48 hours outside the timeframe. He was threatened with court as well. He knew he didn't have to, but admitted many would, just to get them off their backs.

In the end, he accepted their offer to meet in court. He showed the mag reams of letters the police sent, and his replies, and the magistrate actually laughed, following it up very quickly with a derisory comment about GMP. What a waste of time, effort & money. Not to mention the stress. Bastards.

At the end of the day, you know you exceeded the limit. Nothing big about trying to scam yourself out of it, whatever anyone says (and how unpopular it might make me)

You took the decision, so take the points/fine/course whatever.

As regards being notified in 14 days because the letter comes in the normal post and not by recorded delivery you can deny ever receiving it , this also works

my mother taught me an excellent, dead-cert way to avoid having to pay speeding fines ... stick to the speed limit :D
