I've smashed a switch in my kitchen

I'm pretty sure I already know the answer but never the less am still going to ask.......

I'm tiling my kitchen.....

When I removed the old tiles with too much brute force I smashed the 20A DP switch which controls the socket for my fridge.

All is still safe as I've not damaged the switch more the fascia as it were and all live parts are not exposed but a new switch is needed never the less.

Now please correct me where I'm wrong but I'm under the impression that if I had done a similar thing in the living room or any where without water I would be ok to change without notifying under Part P?

But because this switch is in the Kitchen I have to notify?

Can I notify the council before I change it, Change it, then get them to check?

If so about how much am I looking at paying them?

Or can or should I get a spark into do it?

again about how much am I looking at?

I know these questions pop up all the time and I have read a few similar but would still appreciate some advise.

Thank you thought it would of been a lot of hassel for a £5 switch from B&Q
