Well , where do I start !
I have a Jaguar Combi 28 Gas which is slow to heat up the hot water for the kitchen tap when it it turned on for normal flow which is right next to the boiler. The bath & sink take even longer and they are about 3 metres from the boiler.
I did have a problem recently with the pump which got replaced.
My normal corgi registered chap has replaced the red top valve on the back right and also a thermistor at the back of the boiler.
He then advised me to ring up Heat Call as he said he would charge a whole days labour to remove the boiler from the wall and replace the expansion vessel. He also said the hot water seemed to go into the heating system instead of out the taps.
So as Heat Call said £305.88 for all parts and labour I got them to come out.
The engineer then told us that the system neede flushing and then promptly left!
So now my current corgi engineer has now said it would be better to put a whole new boiler in costing £1600 with a 5 year guarantee or he would charge £800 plus parts which includes £315 to flush the system, to take the boiler off the wall to see what needed doing or replacing.
I would like to try and get another corgi chap in to try an quote to fix the boiler if I can, but can anyone suggest my next course of action to take please?
Or any offers from anyone to take a look if you are in the Great Yarmouth area?
Many thanks.
