I Need to change 2 radiator valves and don't want to drain the system.

Can I flatten JG pipe to seal it temporarily or will it damage the pipe?

Strictly a bad move - crushing the pipe would interfere with the plastic structure and shouldn't be done.
John :)

As above, I would avoid crushing pipe. There are several ways of changing rad valves without draining, by creating a vacuum. If you tell us what system you have, we can advise.

I have a header tank so looks like plugging the tank outlet and doing them that way.

At least it is push fittings so won't take long.
