I need to fit isolation valves into H&C water supplies to shower. There are basically two types ; an emergency valve ( with valve handle) and a service valve that is operated with a screwdriver. Both are the same price and appear to do the same job - or am I missing something? is there any important difference and which should I use please. many thanks kevin

The slotted one is less bulky and customers cannot mess with it so easily, as far as I know that's the only difference.
You might find if it gets very stiff the plastic handle will snap, the one with the screwdriver should move as long as the correct sized screwdriver is used.
If you need to turn off say an outside tap every year the plastic head is more convenient.
It tends to be the valves that are not moved for a long time that seize up.

The slotted ones are sh!te quality and sieze up very quickly, so you can't turn them off

The ones with handles are sh!te quality and don't shut the water off properly

That's the main difference
