The shooting of camp guard prisoners is well documented, was investigated at the time and from my mind the troops who fired were quite right, personal involvement from individuals killed or not. Having seen what they had seen one cannot blame them.
For all those, joe, who want to play with numbers where were all the jewish people at wars end who were there at the start, hiding behind bushes? The figure of six million killed, of jewish faith, is probably right. One in eight poles were also seemingly missing at the conclusion of the conflict, where were they, working as plumbers in London?
twenty million citizens of beloruss and the ukraine, those that stalin hadn't starved to death previously, were also put to death, hitlers armies never really got to Russia proper to bring german culture in the final solution.
That 3 million soviet pow were murdered by deliberate act or neglect have also been well documented not least by their own film makers as well as the dictacts of Himmler and goring who left their guilt in writing.
As for the out of the ether figure from the red cross of 270000 its documented that at least 500000 persons were removed from hungary in 1944 and subsequently murdered at complexes built for the purpose. This was done using trains which could have been better employed supplying the german armed forces who were tetering on the brink of defeat but even at that stage the lunacy still went on.

Actually bodies do burn. What you do is have a massive pit. You orientate openings so that they face the prevailing winds. You then place brick or stone columns in the pit across which you place railway or tram track, obtain locally if possible. You then place the bodies on this improvised barbque. Appartently plump women are better on the lower levels, children don't have as much fat in them. You then place wood under the rails and start your bonfire. The heat is increased by the melting body fat and away you go. When the fire goes out you gather up any of the bones and have them crushed by prisoners using logs with hand grips on the side. Just having the crushed bone is a lot easier to deal with as it doesn't take up as much space, or smell as bad, as a body. Why am I sure of this because I've read the report by the ss specialist, lots of career openings in the third reich, whose field of expertise this was.

The 'six million' is a figure used for well over a hundred years.
What about the other 5 million? Didn't they get included in the holocaust? Is it a jews only club? (gypsies, homosexuals etc).
Which camp were they interned in? Where were they cremated? Well?
