John Torode sacked now.

I have tbh, sometimes I get a bit fed up with this take on things. Of course, sometimes it can be true i.e. folk given roles because they tick a box, however it then means whenever a non white person is given e.g. a presenting role, folk say 'ah well, we know why they got the job!'

What would make folk happy? Only white folk to be given all presenting and acting jobs?
Well I wouldn’t like to be a white TV advert actor right now.

Don't waste your breath.

Something else here -- Tv companies are all for tick boxing roles -oh look how diverse we are but the majority of top management roles are still mainly occupied my white males.
Don't waste your breath.
And people like you fall for it

So if non white tv presenters and actors who are rubbish at their job have only been given that role because they tick a box, why have white presenters and actors who are rubbish at their job been given the role?

Why not? I see white actors in adverts right left and centre, don't you?
Yes and that is my point if they are there at all they are only ever on the left or the centre or the right - never all over unless it is an advert first made for a different country and then they are curiously all white actors.

But does it matter?

I honestly can't decide.

If it was 6 years ago, why are they sacking him now? Seems a little too convenient.

Wallace was always the 'main one', if they get a replacement does that mean that Torode gets an upgrade to become the main presenter, or does Wallace's replacement become the new Batman and put Robin's nose out of joint?
Easier to clear the decks and start afresh.

The BBC have only got to themselves to blame though, who'd have thought that a cockney barrow boy would be a bit cheeky with the ladies and that an Australian would be a racist?

Its just an observation but it seems that some people do not like me observing it.
The world of TV adverts is totally messed up anyway and tilted heavily toward selling to women.

Presumably the advertisers know what works. And that is the reason for any over representation of certain groups. Rather than them trying to be PC. Maybe women like hunky black men.

I did a Food Technology course in the 80s which covered everything about the food industry from food science and chemistry, microbiology, dairy, baking, butchery, all kinds of cookery and all the maths, stats and industrial processes, machinery etc, I appreciate food and enjoy cooking.....

BUT....I can't stand all this poncy art on a plate cr@p.

Yes, it has to look appetising, and if course it has to taste good.

But you don't have to mess about with 100 different ingredients from freeze dried snake's scrotum to liquidised worm's tongues on a bed of rocking horse hoof shavings.

AND then serve it in a tiny portion.

Just good honest food that looks good and tastes great.

Because it works.

Look in a clothes shop.
The mens' section will barely be a quarter of the floor area.

In general and only half - jokingly terms,
Men buy what they need - begrudgingly, too - while women browse, then buy what they need, what they want, and what they neither need nor want.

It's not discrimination : it's responding to patterns of human behaviour.
