Johnson and Starley Modair JT1925 problem

HI
I have the above warm air boiler.
Problem has stopped heating.
Gas lights and then turns off, Fan does not start but continuous clicking from around the transformer elecric pannel. A little like when your car indicators stopped working and the relay would click away to itself!

Any idea whats gone wrong.......... cost ? is it a DIY job

typical phoned to have it serviced yesterday and murphy steps in

Definitely not a DIY job. You get it wrong with a boiler or fire it's dangerous enough. With a warm air unit you've got a poxy great fan ready to push products of combustion through the whole property.

If main gas is turning on then room stat ok.
There is a fan sensor that can get covered in dust and muck .
you can check the fan as there is usually a continious switch up by fan on board with the big resistors on it.(or on board at front)
Boards for these are quite expensive

Thanks for the quick response.

got a guy out. Seems like the fan control unit had gone. He had a spare so has put it on. seems to be working. Plan to leave running over the weekend to make sure its not the electric board.... (£130). Heres hoping its just the fan control (£35).

As an aside does anyone know the cost / modle of a replacement warm air system as this is 20 yrs old.
