I need to pain quite a bit of joinery in the house. Primarily doors, skirting, cupboards etc.

My main concern apart from general finish is durability, particularly with a little nipper around who loves to gives things a bash!

So I just wondered what people's view was on the durability of say eggshell as against satinwood and similarly whether people had any experince (particularly with eggshell) of the differences between solvent based and water based acrylics?

I was probably looking at either the dulux trade paints or the Glidden trade paints.

most of the surfaces have an existing paint finish so will need some prep. Some are bare wood and so will be starting from scratch some are MDF so a variety of backgrounds.

Any advice greatly apprecaited.

I think oil based eggshell is the toughest finish, satinwood isnt far behind

The only thing worth baring in mind though is both finishes are not as wipable as gloss
