Hello all,
I've tried to find information regarding this but cannot find anything to my specific problem.
I have made a cupboard in my unused stairwell space. The back wall of the cupboard has been made using stud work and has been plaster boarded.
I am now ready to tape the joints and am curious how I go about joining the new plasterboard to the existing plasterboard in the stair well. The original plasterboard is just painted, no plaster or skim. Should I just scratch the paint with some sand paper to create a key for the jointing compound and join using tape as usual?
More info: The original plasterboard is at right angles to the new plasterboard and is painted with matt paint.
Lastly, I am keen to use metal paper faced tape for the corners to keep a straight edge, can this be used on inside and outside corners?
Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.
