joining shower cable

Whats the best way to join 6mm sq, cable. thanks in advance.

It's best not to join if you can avoid it.

Crimping is a possibility but IIRC while yellow crimps are supposed to be for 6mm the current rating of the ones i've seen are a bit on the low side.

If the joint will be accessible then a junction box can be used. TLC sell a nice 60A one with double screw terminations.

Not that one though - 6mm² could be carrying up to 46A !

Whoops, sorry about that. As prev post you would need a 60A junction box.

PS. 6mm can carry 51A (just to prove myself more wrong in my prev post)

And just to prove you more wrong (and myself cos I didnt check) the maximum that 6mm² t+e can carry is 47A
